I am shocked by this sad news. Nelson Mandela was a South African national hero and icon of the struggle against the racist apartheid regime. He died on Thursday, December 5, at age 95, after battling health problems often associated with his 27 years of imprisonment and hard labor in the limestone quarries of Robben Island jobs.
President of South Africa between 1994 and 1999, Mandela fought hard against the apartheid regime of racial segregation in this country, made ​​official in 1948.
